Welcome to the blog for the 4th and 5th grade "Great Expectations" novel study. We will be reading the book "Chasing Vermeer" by Blue Balliett. This is a story about two very inquisitive and smart children who try to solve a very old mystery. Your reading responses for each section should be entered in the comment section of this heading. I think Petra is a girl that wants to know what serious things are going on and wants to figure out mysterious mysteries.But I think Calder is a kid that likes finding stuff like art,but he wonders alot to what happens to art.

I think Petra and Calder are both gifted. I am pretty sure that they read the newspaper and have a love of art. Looking at the back cover, I think the art museum has a famous Vermeer painting.
So far the book is AWESOME.(Like me.) I think that Petra and Calder are gonna get a little adventure.

So far I love the book. I think Calder is a boy who loves puzzles and riddles, but just does not realize it yet. I think Petra is a girl that loves art and mystries, but does not realize it yet just like Calder.

So far in the book the art peice of art A Lady writing as been stolen.The thief aswrote a bit in the newspaper and as his/her own website.
