Our third graders are reading the book Poppy by AVI and completing a literature circle to share their insights about this wonderful story.

Calder was preoccupied because he was looking at his T pentomino. He realized that Petra and him were 12 years old on 12-12 (December 12). Petra said "Wow" because she thought it was smart of Calder to realize the coincidence.
Because they were both turning 12 on the 12th, in the 12th month, and they have 12 hours to figure out The Lady Writing.
