Knowing the definition of the word shard, and looking at the cover of the book write a comment telling what you think the story will be about. Think about what the setting might be? Where and when might the story take place? And, have you read any other books by the same author? Please take some time to make this a well thought out comment.

I think this books setting might be in Korea and that he might go to about five different places. I think the story takes place in the 1920's.

I am thinking that pottery will impact the story in a big way. I think the person on the cover will want to be a potter.
I think this book will be about an poor kid who lives in Korea in the twelth century. It seems like a very good book for all ages.

I think the setting is in a village in a rural area of Asia because it looks like the person on the front cover has some of his belongings on his back.
Also, with what looks like the shadow of a pot behind the tittle, I think the shard must be from a pot.
This book looks like a great book for everyone to read.

I think that this book will be about
a poor kid who finds shards of some kind. Then I think maybe he finds something important to him.
