Our third graders are reading the book Poppy by AVI and completing a literature circle to share their insights about this wonderful story.

If there is extra hay on the farm around the pit, Crane-man could probably weave a pillow and blanket for Tree-ear before the cold winter is over. But the way Min's wife is giving him favors, she might give him a pillow and/or blanket first.
I would make it better by takeing all the things that they have from under the bridge to the hole.That way they would at least have familiar things with them. I think
that at least then it would sort of
be like the bridge.

I would put more hey,and a lot of warm things like blanks,pillows and other things.Min's wife gives him things,but she should give them a sleeping bag.

I would make furniture out of clay. I would also decorate it.[with flowers or something.]
could make small holes in the ceiling to let light in also.

Maybe if there were some animals nearby Crane-man and tree-ear could kill the animals and use their hides as blankets.
