Mr. Ocax is a significant character in this chapter. How does he control the mice? Name some of his character traits. Also, do the mice have the right to challenge his authority? Please explain.

Tragedy strikes early when Mr. Ocax kills Ragweed. Were you shocked by Ragweed's murder? Did it frighten you? Why do you think Avi started hs story in this way? Is this an unusual event in the animal world?

Welcome 3rd graders. This will be something new to help you think deeper about our next selection for reading. We will be reading a wonderful book by the Newberry Medal winning author or Crispin.

As you go through your literature circle activities I would like you to take time to visit this blog and comment on posts that I will list here. In order to do this you will create a Word document (save it to your flash drive) and then print that copy out for me to proof before you post your comment. You will save the printed out copy in your binder.
