Standing Before Mr. Ocax

Mr. Ocax is a significant character in this chapter. How does he control the mice? Name some of his character traits. Also, do the mice have the right to challenge his authority? Please explain.

I think that Mr. Ocax controls the mice because he is scaring them and also because the mice have to ask permission to go on the hill and to go to new house. They don’t have enough food for the whole family. I think Mr. Ocax is mean and lies to many of animals. He is really cruel for not letting them pass the hill without permission to cross the hill. The mice have the right to challenge his authority. I think they have the right to cross the hill and go to new house without having to ask permission because he lies about things. Just because he is an owl and they are mice doesn’t mean he can tell them what to do.

Mr. Ocax controls the mice because all the mice have to ask Mr. Ocax’s permission to go anywhere besides their house. He also controls the mice Poppy’s dad had to ask Mr. Ocax if their family could move into a new house. So that is just one of the ways Mr. Ocax controls the mice. but Mr. Ocax was lying when he said the porcupine would eat them because they are vegetarian!
I think some of Mr. Ocax’s charter traits are: mean, cruel, he acts like he rules the whole world, dis honest, vicious, he lied to the mice just to make them go back to their old house and starve because they had very little food in their house. One more charter trait I can think of is bossy because Mr. Ocax told t Poppy and her dad that they HAVE to stay in their old house no matter what even if they run out of food.
I think the mice have the right to challenge his authority because it is time for someone to stand up to Mr. Ocax. Also if Mr. Ocax didn’t rule anymore animals such as mice would be free to do whatever they wanted to. Also if Mr. Ocax didn’t rule anymore the mice wouldn’t have to be pushed around anymore and they didn’t have to ask permission to go everywhere.

Mr. Ocax expects all mice to have a great fear of him. Mr. Ocax wants to be treated like a king. Mr. Ocax wants to have a right to say that he is more worthy of being served than the small mice. He thinks he is of higher quality and use than mice and such, only because they are the prey of many animals and afraid of his threats. I think Mr. Ocax is unworthy of being in the position he is in. The mice do have the rights to challenge Mr. Ocax authority. The mice are only holding back from standing up for themselves because of their fear for Mr. ocax’s threats. Mia

Mr.Ocax controls the mice. He gave the mice family a barrier where they can’t go past, because beyond that point they are not “protected” by Mr. Ocax from “dangerous” porcupines. But he will actually attack the mice family if they pass the border. Some of Mr. Ocaxs’ character traits that he is are mean, dishonest, cruel, and he has control over the mice. He takes advantage of them. I think the mice have the right to go past the border because Mr. Ocax should not have the right to control of the deer mice family.
